Day in the Life of a Reverend and Black History Month

On Tuesday, we had the opportunity to ask Reverend Sharron questions about what a typical day in her life as a vicar looks like. We learnt more about her role, her daily responsibilities and how she supports people in the community.

October is Black History Month. In class we have discussed what black history month it is, why it is important and how it celebrates the history, achievements and contributions of Black people.

To deepen our understanding, we completed a reading comprehension activity all around Black History Month and its importance. This gave us a chance to practice our reading skills while discovering more about key historical events and inspiring stories of key individuals like Marcus Rashford, Walter Tull, Nathan Bryon and Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock.

It has been a week filled with great discussions, thoughtful questions and valuable lessons. We’re looking forward to carrying these important conversations forward throughout the rest of the month and beyond!
