An electric feeling ⚡️⚡️

This week began with a shared write on writing a recipe about the pizzas we made during our Art’s Fortnight! We watched recipe videos, saw examples and learnt new writing techniques. We learnt how to vary our writing by introducing S, M sentences. Even though this was a lot of new information, the children shown great determination and did amazingly (see what I did there!).

In Maths, we learnt a new arithmetic skill of multiplying 2 digit numbers by 1 digit number. We will continue to build our fluency next week by focusing on 2 by 3 digit numbers as well as exchanges.

In our second Geography lesson, we have been exploring climate change and its devastating effects on the planet. We took a practical approach and investigated how rising sea levels affect the environment. Every thirty minutes from 9am to 12am, we measured the sea level. As time went on, the ice caps melted causing the sea levels to rise and costal houses to erode. After that, we plotted our results on a line graph.

Science was electric this week. We began with understanding the main components of a basic electric circuit. Next, we all held hands and mimicked a human electric circuit. In small groups, pupils worked together to create their very own circuits!

Please ensure you are practicing TTRS and reading at least 3 times a week.
