BACK2BACK learning!

It was so lovely to welcome all of the children back to class this week. We have started the term with so much positivity and enthusiasm already.

This week in maths we focused on multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1,000. We used place value sliders, base ten equipment and counters to see how each digit moves through the columns when we multiply or divide. We practised with lots of examples and word problems, which helped us understand the patterns and build confidence in our skills. These activities allowed us to explore the process step by step and really develop mastery in maths.

In reading, we explored a non fiction text about orienteering, learning about map symbols, navigation and teamwork. We practised back to back reading, taking turns to read aloud and matching our partner’s tone, intonation, pace and fluency. This helped us improve our expression, accuracy and confidence while reading aloud. Next, we practised the Big 10 skill of inference.

Please remember to complete 10 minutes of TTRS daily and try and get the soundcheck scores up to 25/25.

Have a wonderful weekend everybody!
